Kinomatic today announced the launch of Kinect, a unified platform that connects surgical planning, case management, and surgeon collaboration for knee and hip joint replacement.
Kinect is the connective layer that brings case data, imaging, communications, and surgeon preferences into one system, so every stage from pre-planning through recovery runs on the same record. Capturing each patient’s end-to-end surgical experience in one structured place is what creates the data foundation to train and deploy AI models that aid the biomedical engineers who lead the planning process.
Existing segmentation and planning tools were built to solve isolated tasks. Kinect was built from the ground up as an AI-ready platform, purpose-built to connect the entire episode of care and generate the datasets AI models require to learn. It is already training models to perform segmentation, and the same connected data is expected to power models that help surgeons identify best practices and assist them directly during planning.
For surgeons, Kinect is a web app. Plans can be reviewed and progress tracked from any device, surgical configurations live in a surgeon’s profile and apply automatically across cases, and a notification goes out the moment a plan is ready for review. QA runs automatically against each plan’s configuration, alongside an independent peer review by a second engineer.

The announcement also covers Kinomatic’s RESTORE pilot with WHOOP, which carries the same personalization into recovery with continuous biometric monitoring, dedicated patient navigators, and evidence-based protocols.
