Defining Kinomatic

Kinomatic

[kino-ma-tic]

The name Kinomatic means: to optimize functional biomechanical alignment. This is a new concept in orthopedics where Surgeons take a holistic approach to surgery, as opposed to Kinematic alignment which looks at each joint independently, not the whole anatomy.

Details: Kinomatic alignment considers your entire anatomy, optimizing alignment through pre-operative planning. Everyone’s biomechanics are unique, and arthritis can alter them, affecting the lower back, hips, knees, and ankles. Replacing a knee or hip is an opportunity to optimize your biomechanical alignment, which has been shown to increase functional movement, decrease pain and arthritis in other joints, and create a more natural feeling joint. Kinomatic’s approach ensures a comprehensive plan for optimizing lower-body biomechanics.

Mission

We aspire to improve patients' quality of life through innovation, collaboration with our surgeon partners, and a relentless focus on exceptional service.

Vision

To be uniformly recognized as the gold standard for orthopedic surgery in the US by consistently delivering superior results.

Our History

Creating the new gold standard for orthopedic surgery.

Kinomatic was founded with a simple goal, to optimize surgical outcomes. There have been tremendous advances in orthopedics, but many technologies and surgical techniques still use generic alignment parameters that are the same for every patient, regardless of their unique anatomy. This philosophy was adopted decades ago in order to reduce the number of bad outcomes after surgery. Unfortunately, what this approach has done is led surgeons to focus on avoiding bad outcomes instead of focusing on great outcomes. Why settle for a good surgical outcome when you could have a great surgical outcome? The Kinomatic approach is to optimize every surgical outcome. Some patients report a knee or hip after surgery that feels so natural they forget they ever had surgery, we call this a forgotten joint, and that’s the goal of every Kinomatic surgery. We believe that surgery should be customized to every patient with a goal of the most natural feeling joint as possible.

At Kinomatic, our core values shape everything we do.
